Without
a win this season Threemilestone hoped that they could
pull together and get a result from this local derby,
unfortunately the dire form continued and ended in an embarrassing
defeat
at the hands of a useful Frogpool. The game
was marred slightly by the fact that no referee was present
due to him being reassigned on Friday night to a higher
league match. It fell on the shoulders of the home side to
provide a man in the middle which they did for the first
half with Frogpool providing second half coverage. The
home side
started brightly and both teams seemed evenly
matched, although it must be said that the away sides passing
was much crisper. The first goal was a wonder goal with the
Frogpool forward firing into the top right hand corner giving
the TMS keeper no chance. Threemilestone nearly equalised
straight from the start with Jolly firing wide when clean
through. Unfortunately for TMS sloppy defending from a
free kick gave the away side their second and at the interval
it was TMS 0 Frogpool 2.
The second
half started abysmally for the Stones when within 4
minutes of the start they had conceded twice. This killed
off any spirit that TMS had even though Jolly pulled one
back
when he headed home from a well worked corner. As time
ticked on TMS collapsed and fell into disarray as
Frogpool
smashed in 3 further goals before the end of the
game. Yet again it was not lack of effort from the home
side
but just lack of quality that saw Threemilestone lose
again.
Footnote: Steve Pascoe
the manager of the Reserve Team decided after
the match to step down, due to personal
reasons, and
let someone else have the reigns, I would like to thank
Steve on behalf of all players for his efforts whilst
in charge
of the team. The committee has appointed David Hill successor
to
Steve and I know we all wish him the best in his new
appointment .
