This
game was slightly marred by no referee and some arguing between
the officials elect and the away sides players. TMS needed to get their season
up and running and therefore went on the attack from the
first whistle but unfortunately a lack of cohesion throughout
the side saw little joy. Steve Pascoe come close on a couple
of occasions, however, it was the Stones goalkeeper David
Hill who pulled off several important saves. Half time ended
scoreless with both sides unable to break through.
The second half was much the
same as the first except that the home side did produce several
chances that if converted might have seen them get all three
points, however, it was St Buryan who took the lead when
they converted a free kick just outside of the box. The half
dragged on and it seemed that the visitors would take all
three points, however, with 10 mins left, Luff crossed from
the left, young Pirret headed the ball into the path of Daz
Woolcock who fired the ball across the box, the ball was
met by Chris Knowles who fired the ball low into the right
hand corner of the net.
