  Managers Match Report...
Threemilstone Reserves went down to another defeat by mid table Trevenson at Polstain Road.

The side started brightly and gave as good as they got, but the Stones soon found themselves trailing when the Trevenson striker managed to break through the back four to slot the ball home. Ten minutes later TMS fell further behind when the Stones failed to clear a corner and the ball ended up in the back of the net. Fortunately after this double blow the Reserves found some fight and began to press the away side back, with efforts from Luff and Jolly going wide, however it was from one of these attacks that Darren Woolcock halved the deficit when he fired home from 20 yards out. Could the home side keep up the pressure? Unfortunately not and as the half came to a close they found themselves three one down.

The second half began in the same vein as the first; however, it was the Stones who struck first with young Jones blasting a shot from the edge of the box into the left hand corner giving the away side keeper no chance. Yet again it seemed that TMS would pull a result out of the fire, but a sloppy fifteen minutes which has blighted the Reserves this year soon put paid to any come back as Trevenson scored twice to extend their lead to five two. Threemilestone managed to pull a further goal back on the 80th minute when Blake Crouch dribbled through the away side's defence, before rounding the keeper and tucking the ball into the empty net. Although this seemed only a consolation goal at least the Stones could have the last laugh, however, this was also not to be when the away side scored their sixth goal on the stroke of full time.

Plenty of effort but very little guile cost the Stones again.

Richard Luff.
