Dan Taylor put TMS in front after 15 minutes,when Steve Howsons through ball was collected by Taylor, who rounded the advancing keeper for an easy finish. Tms then missed several chances to increase the lead until ten minutes later when Phil Todd's pass found Taylor on the edge of the box, Taylor dummied a defender before picking his spot in the bottom right hand corner. Brother Marc Taylor then added a third, with a volley that went over the keeper before dipping under the bar. Marc scored TMS's fourth and his second just before half time, exploiting the lack of pace in the Mount Ambrose defence to set up another one on one with the goalie who was left stranded twenty yards out.

Shortly after half time Mount Ambrose scored their goal, when the referee gave a penalty for some pushing in a goal mouth scramble. Marc Taylor then killed off any hope of a Mt Ambrose comeback ten minutes later when he completed his hat-trick after good play down the right wing from Steve Howson and a cross into the box by Ian Jay left Taylor with an easy tap in.
