Threemilestone
produced their best display of the season to knock Duchy
Division 1 side St Mawes
out of the Junior Cup.
The first half produced no goals but TMS had the better chances,
Anthony Caddy rattled the cross bar on two occasions with
long range
efforts and Lee Fairley missed a sitter from three yards out.
St Mawes who were largely defending also had several dangerous
counter
attacks.
The second half saw the Stones once again put their higher league
opposition under pressure and their stubborn defence was finally
broken after fifteen minutes, Caddy's near post corner was back
healed into the path of Fairley who made no mistake this time.
Another Caddy corner ten minutes later and TMS were two up, Daniel
Taylor
getting across in front of the keeper to flick the ball in.
St Mawes then pushed men forward in search of a goal. This allowed
Terry Spargo the space to carry the ball forty yards before
releasing Taylor, who's clinical finish rounded off a great team
performance and a worthy place in the next round.
