Threemilestone
could not repeat their efforts of the previous week, and
went out of the Junior Cup in this second round replay
2-0 against first
division Trevenson.
At the windswept Pool
School the Stones played with the strong wind in the first
half and found the
Trevenson defence hard to break down, with shots mainly
contained to longe range efforts,that
rarely troubled the keeper.
Trevenson
took the lead fifteen minutes into the second half,
when a cross field ball found Brian Smeeth unmarked and his 25
yard shot
sailed into the back of the net. Smeeth doubled the score
five minutes later, when he
pounced on a loose ball inside the six yard box. TMS
were given brief hope following the introduction of young debut
substitutes
M.Tregenna and J.Bright 15
minutes from time and they livend up the Stones attack,
but Trevenson held on for a
deserved
victory.
