TMS
almost pulled off the shock of the round against division
1 title contenders Trevenson.
Threemilestone were the better side throughout
the the ninety minutes but could not convert any of a number
of good chances into goals, Anthony Caddy saw his effort
cleared off the line and the Taylor brothers also saw good
shots
go wide of goal. Trevenson rarely threatened Pellow's goal,
due mainly to the excellent defensive work of Jay, Stephens
and
Spargo.
As the first period of extra time was about to start I
thought this would be a good time to pop to the changing room
to refill the empty water bottles. There were cheers from the
crowd and on poking my head out of the door saw that we had scored,
the goal coming direct from one of Caddy's now famous
in-swinging corners. Tms held onto their slender lead until the
115th minute, a
break down the left caught the Stones a little short at the back
and the cross was volleyed in at the back post to set up a replay
next saturday at pool school.
