The
Stones continued in their challenge for the title with
a well earned point away against the current leaders Illogan.
But the team know they could have easily come home with
all
three had there not been a slip in concentration for a
five minute period late in the second half.
Threemilestone had the best of an entertaining first half between
two good passing sides. Tim Grose was in fine form down the right
side and Steve Howson outstanding in the midfield. TMS deservedly
took the lead after 35 minutes when Dan Taylor held the ball
on the edge of the area, and played it into the path of Anthony
Caddy who finished from fifteen yards.
Ian Jay headed just
over from a corner, and Illogan hit the bar with a 30 yard shot
before
the half time whistle.
Daniel Taylor headed in a Terry Spargo corner twenty minutes
into the second half to make it 0-2, which should have been game
set and match. But Illogan pushed men forward and pulled a goal
back five minutes later when a dubious offside flag halted a
TMS attack with Marc Taylor clean through on goal, the resulting
free kick was taken quickly and Illogan worked the ball into
the TMS half and finished with a clever shot from the edge of
the box. Two minutes later it was
2-2,
following
a mix
up
between
keeper and defence which allowed the striker in to snatch a 2nd
goal. This seemed to kick start the lads back into action and
Howson nearly
won the match with a header that went agonisingly wide, after
a good run and cross from Taylor.
